This is actually school work.

Design strategy. The design strategy i propose is inherently based on the site analysis and the sculpture analysis previously documented. The theme of the design is 'where am i?', which plays a lot on the boundaries of space, threshold, and, on a larger scale, context. In line with this, there will also be emphasis on the flow of pedestrian traffic though the site, with the main entry on union place and exit on holmwood place or even vice versa, where they can just wander 'through' the entire site and at any one point wonder 'where am i' through ambiguity in the definition of boundaries and threshold. Context is also a part of this, with relation to the site and phenomena within proximity, eg. Uni, lygon st, in carlton which is known for victorian styled townhouses etc.

what a sunday

haha i know its like tuesday now. but i'd like to blog about the eventful sunday i had (30/03/2008).

first off, at 12am of 30/03/2008 (or saturday midnight) i ate A1 egg chiffon because i was told to load up on carbs before the big run. i guess i took it too seriously. hahaha. prob ended up upping my cholesterol levels instead of energy levels haha.

got up at 7am in prep for the run. wore nelson's TYR cycling shirt because i thought it'd be warmer and aerodynamic etc. also because i always remember him wearing it when he used to cycle to work in the early mornings when it was absolutely freezing. so, seeing the similarity in conditions, i gave his shirt a go.

the run itself started about 8.30am. sadly, i didn't have enough(any) willpower to train (at all) beforehand. and, since i had never run that far before (14.14km) at one go up to that point, i thought i was in for a bit of a torture session. but it wasn't too bad really :) more because i had good running company (bjbj) and we mainly had a good chat and conversation throughout the run. both of us finished it quicker than expected, so was rather pleased :) (truthfully, i had no expectations, just didn't want to be picked up by the bus that would pick you up if you were too slow) hahaha

later that afternoon, i walked around the city for about 3 hours taking pictures of sculptures and statues for AD2. chanced upon this great video store in paramount that sells all the asian movies, serials etc. it just opened so 50% off storewide. i walked out of there with 13 new movies, including kungfudunk which i have been wanting to see for a while.

Maroon 5 + One Republic + Brandi Carlile later that night. I had bought the 4 tickets way back last year in like november, but i promptly forgot about them until just a couple days before the gig. was quite enjoyable! have a look below. maroon 5 and one republic didnt have meet-the-fans sessions (or they would surely be restraining-order-on-crazy-screaming-fan-girls sessions), only BC did :)
